CHERRY - Cherry wood is a product of nature and will include numerous color hues, grain patterns and other natural characteristics. Raw cherry pieces can have a color variation from nearly white to red. Stains help in blending these variations, but in lighter colors, particularly Saltimbocca, the variation remains obvious. Cherry deepens in color when exposed to light, although the UV inhibitors in our varnish prevent our cherry from darkening excessively. Pin knots and pitch pockets are common cherry characteristics that cannot be entirely eliminated when selecting wood for cabinetry. In fact, many people find these characteristics part of cherry's beauty.
CHERRY SELECT - Our most discriminating customers can elect to have their raw cherry hand-chosen to minimize color variation, pitch pockets, pin knots and mineral streaks. This results in doors and drawer fronts with very even color and grain. Ask your designer about this premium option.
